Ingredients for "Asian Sloppy Joes" (Click here for measurement conversion) 1 cup diced Red Onions
2 teaspoons crushed Garlic
1 teaspoon crushed fresh Ginger
1/2 cup finely diced Carrots
1 cup finely diced Red Bell Peppers
2 lbs extra lean ground Beef
28 ounces diced Tomatoes
1/2 cup Hoisin Sauce
2 Tablespoons fresh Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon hot Sauce
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground Black Pepper
Method for "Asian Sloppy Joes"
In a large nonstick skillet sprayed with vegetable spray, add the onion, garlic and ginger. Sauté for 5 minutes or until the onion is browned. Add the carrot and bell pepper and sauté for 3 more minutes. Add the beef and sauté for 5 minutes or until no longer pink. Add the tomatoes, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the hoisin sauce, lemon juice, hot sauce, salt and pepper and cook for at least 5 minutes. Serve on white rice or pasta.
