Ingredients for "1 2 3 4 Orange Cake" (Click here for measurement conversion) 1 cup Butter or Margarine
2 cups Sugar
4 Eggs
3 cups all-purpose Flour
2 teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Orange Juice
1 cup Raisins
Method for "1 2 3 4 Orange Cake"
Pour boiling water over raisins and let sit while preparing rest of cake. Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs. Sift flour, cream of tartar and soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with orange juice and vanilla. Drain raisins; add to batter. Pour into "9 inch x 13 inch" pan or two 9-inch layer pans which have been buttered and floured. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes for large pan or 30 minutes for layer pans (be sure to test for doneness). Can be iced or served with sliced berries and whipped cream.
