Features for "Spicy Sev"
Vegetarian dish, served as snacks
Ingredients for "Spicy Sev" (Click here for measurement conversion) Gram flour - 2 cups
Omam seeds (ajwain) - ½ teaspoon
Red chilli powder - 1½ teaspoons
Oil - as needed
Red chilli powder - ½ teaspoon
Salt - to taste
Asafoetida - 2-3 pinches
Water - as needed to make dough
Oil - as needed to deep fry
Method for "Spicy Sev"
Mix chilli, oil and salt with flour and mix well till crumbly. Keep adding water, in very small amounts, kneading it into a soft flexible dough. Make sure not to add too much water at a time. Cover the dough with moist cloth and leave aside for 15-20 minutes. Beat dough on a plain surface and knead again. Re-cover and leave aside for few more minutes. Grease the inside of a sev-press and fill with the dough. Press the sev-press, letting the sev out into hot oil. Fry lightly on both side. Drain well and cool before storing.
